PRE-DANCE CLASSES
Pre-dance classes at Creative Edge are always fun, encompassing both pre-ballet and jazz forms of dance. Dance students in this class learn structure, basic coordination and enjoy the fun of moving and exploring their space.
Dance classes focus on simple dance routines and incorporate the use of fun dance games and movement exercises. Warm ups, creative choreography and technical exercises prepare students in this class to enter a ballet or jazz dance curriculum.
DANCE PROGRAMS FOR AGES 6 & UP
Creative Edge offers several levels and types of dance from Royal Academy of Dance Ballet to Musical Theatre. See a description of each below
BALLET
Our ballet program follows the Royal Academy of Dance curriculum. All ballet dance students are placed in RAD grade levels and exams are available each year for those who are ready to progress onto the next grade level. Students also look forward to exciting semi-annual performances at the Abbey Arts Centre In Abbotsford.
RECREATIONAL JAZZ
The beginner Jazz dance class is a great program for learning jazz technique and creative choreography in a recreational setting. Students who excel in this program will be asked to move into a higher level. We recommend that students in our Jazz dance program be also enrolled in a ballet class to enhance their technical capabilities. Students also look forward to major biannual performances at the Abbey Arts Centre right herein Abbotsford.
COMPETITION JAZZ
The competition jazz program is more goal orientated than our recreational jazz program where students continue to work at perfecting their jazz technique. An emphasis is placed on working as a team in cleaning choreography for competition. The dancers perform in at least one competition/season as well as in biannual productions held at the "Abbey Arts Centre". Students enter this class by teacher recommendation.
HIP HOP
Our Hip Hop dance program is very popular as it incorporates the types of moves seen on today's music videos using today's popular songs. No other formal dance training is required to enter this program. Students also look forward to major biannual performances at the Abbey Arts Centre right here in Abbotsford, BC.
MUSICAL THEATRE
Our musical theatre class develops jazz skills and techniques with emphasis on choreography which is fun and entertaining. Dancers portray character and acting out through their dance. Students also look forward to entertaining biannual performances at the Abbey Arts Centre.
TAP
Our Tap Dance program incorporates fun and entertaining choreography with traditional tap dance techniques. Students also look forward to being part of our biannual performances at the Abbey Arts Centre in Abbotsford, BC.

STAGE PERFORMANCES
All Creative Edge dance students enjoy the opportunity to perform on stage twice a year in December and June at the Abbey Arts Centre in Abbotsford, BC. These performances showcase feature a nice variety of entertainment for parents.
