ACTING LESSONS
Creative Edge has been offering drama classes/acting lessons in Abbotsford since 1991. We keep the atmosphere fun, while challenging the students to become good actors. Several of our students have gone on to UFV to continue as theatre majors there.
Drama classes at The Edge are divided into 3 age groups:
FURRY TALE THEATRE - AGES 4-7
ACT UP THEATRE - AGES 8-12
UPSTAGE PLAYERS - AGES 13+
The younger drama students class time involves fun drama games, dress up and roll playing, all which make for a fun introduction to children's theatre for 4 to 7 year olds.
The middle and older age groups focus more on theatre sports, improvisation, acting for the camera and stage presentation.
Our drama classes act on stage at the Abbotsford Arts Centre during our year end show in June.

I’m often in the position of explaining to other parents why the Creative Edge drama program is so fabulous... what's in it for their kids.
I used to give lots of examples of how the kids have fun, develop confidence in a safe fun setting through improv games and get to be a part of these incredibly professional film productions & live theater.
Or I'd say how our son is sooooo full of confidence and joy after he has worked on his "production" and gets to show it to the parents (whether DVD or live) Truthfully, I couldn't believe it the first year when I saw a fully edited DVD was what you produced from the kids "skits"! And we have this memory for life on the DVD.
But now my response to parents asking questions is most often, just come & watch the kids.... the classes and the shows will tell it all. Watch the kids faces (LOVE the two ways glass so I can ALWAYS see the dynamics of the class), see the laughing, joy, skill building.
Our son is learning such valuable life skills and having a blast doing it. He is learning a work ethic (its not always easy memorizing lines or working on a character) and it’s worth every penny!
Thank-you Mark ..... I know it takes so many people on your team to make this happen, but I feel without your great leadership and skills with the kids it wouldn't have the substance you so encourage!
